Update:

Based on the initial costing of the lights rental specified by Chester, and other incidental costs, I am looking at P500 participation fee for this workshop.

To those won't agree, you can take out your name.

Hold your horses boys, that's not the final. I'm also consulting with our host, because 1 see like 1kW of light EACH ha. Baka naman bigla taas ng bill ni Jeanne kakahiya...

That's the plan, may merienda, and lunch. Ang dinner, sagot na ni Tony Boy.

I hope to get sponsorship to the lights from Aperture Trading. It's the same lighting system Wig Tysmann used in his workshop that I attended.

the one suggested by pigdog are not for hobbyist. those are big tungsten lights usually use for film production. maiinit yun mga yun. the ones sold by aperture are regular strobes for still photography. i suggested kay arnold to request yun mid price products nila so that you can have a feel of it and if later on you want to buy one for yourself.

with regards to strobes, any brands can be use by pros or hobbyist. depende na lang sa budget. some pros owned lights sold by aperture which is mid to low price bracket and some hobbyist owned lights sold by island photo which are way expensive.

i suggested using hot lights simply because it is easier for the attendees to see the effects of the lights in real time , also if they will be shooting, the hot lights will not require any triggering devises such synch cables and etc thus making it much simpler. i dont recommend they buy arri 1k hot lights or any type of hotlights for that matter though, it is only meant for convenience however if the consensus is to use flash then thats fine by me

one of my waterloo is photography is the use of flash, much more made difficult now with the autofocus digital camera. most often, the presets of digicam is really hard to combine with built-in or external falsh and it reacts or overreacts to the flashes/burst of light, that bounced back unto to the camera. its a great opportunity that pigdog vounteers his expertise (free ba?  ) to the wild boys of wiredstate.

sir arnold, please put me on the waitlist. P500 is okay with me and thanks to sir tonyboy who volunteered to take care of free merienda, coffee and desserts.

From Shopwise Pasong Tamo, or Philippine Daily Inquirer, take a tricycle and tell them to bring you to Primo Rivera.
