Spirit of 75

After being sidelined because of an unplanned project and overcoming some health issues,
viewtopic.php?f=51&t=23944
Was gradually able to make it work.

Had a 50 hz lenco 75 ( for parts spares ) and wanted to use it in the local 60hz frequency without doing any modifications to the motor shaft. I also wanted to retain what I thought was the Heart and Soul of the turntable. A PTP ( Peter Reinder's top plate ) with some adjustments makes this possible.

Incorporated some features in the turntable that would make arm mounting flexible. Should be able to accomodate most 9 to 12 inch tomearms.
Did some trials on a mock up plinth to check the range of motion of the arm mount.

Once the measurements were confirmed, the plinth was assembled

Though the unit has been working fine since the begining of this year, a motor controller should complete the package.

Thanks everyone for the really kind words :)

Interesting to see how far the performance of the lenco can be pushed. I still do have a stock lenco (literally taken from dimfer's backyard) for comparison.

Still some unfinished bussiness. Need to install the disengage linkage for the idler mechanism (cable linkage) and on / off switch.

Cheers !

      muntik na ako maniwala dun ah !

Did only the easy part.

The top acrylic layer was lazer cut. I had the isolation platform custom made.

Underneath the acrylic are layers of plywood I cut with a jigsaw and glued
together and held tight by several clamps while it cured. The whole plinth core drops into the
hardwood frame.

The hardwood frame were pre-cut at a woodshop. Used turbo glue to join the corners. Wood
shavings and saw dust together with the glue were used to fill in the gaps in the joint. (a trick I learned from Timber 715)

Optional footers were just cones courtesy of Skeesix and I just had some extenders made.
