We now have three Set friendly models from Ambience Speaker Systems. We've had these for a while but I forgot to update.

Two are passive true ribbon/cone hybrids the Reference 1600 and the Reference 1800 both at 96dB at 2.83V sensitive lowest dip at 4.3 ohms high at 5.4 fairly flat impedance curve but to be conservative consider them 4ohms nominal. So that would convert to be a little over 93dB sensitive at 1w/1m. Truth in advertising :D Reference 1600 in stock SRP $12,000. Large wave launch. Have the matching Bandpass subs in stock as well if needed.

The other is the Reference 1800 P , a ref 18 with a built in sub this should push the sensitivity up at least 2 points overall. Specs and price to be released.

On custom basis only, 97dB version of the VR-5 Anniversary (lower module powered ala DB99 SE except amps and x-over external) VSA cabling available on request as well, finishes custom also. Price custom rin. Aray.

Has anyone heard these speakers before? These seem to be "tube friendly". 'Just noticed they're gaining recognition for performance.

Which Kilpsch? Vintage or modern?

We have a member here who has a vintage Klipsch being driven by a Darling, but he's not into rock (are you?)

I have auditioned a modern Klipsch years ago and thought it's not for me.

If there's a will there's a way. More than a decade ago, building speakers, amps and a turntable from scratch is something I would not even think of doing ;)

Pm mo si tony. His circuits and topology are posted here in the forum :). For the speakers, I can send you my classic straight Voigt pipe design :)
