Re: Marquez vs Bradley

Marquez always had trouble with mobile opponents. Bradley fought smart. He was able to avoid getting lured in a brawl, in which case he could have gotten KTFO. Marquez style is to wait for his opponent's mistake to deliver a killer blow. Props to Tim Bradley for fighting the way he fought. He has proven he's a versatile fighter. I myself scored it a majority win for Bradley.
As for PED use. I have always believed Marquez is a clean fighter. He knocked out Manny Pacquiao because he made a mistake by leaving himself defenseless and open for a counter punch blow. It had always been a close and toss-up fight between these two warriors until that fourth fight.
Marquez is clean unless and until there's a real evidence to prove otherwise.

I was really impressed by Mikey Garcia. He doesn't lose his composure. He's accurate, savvy and he really packs serious power in his punches. I loved those jabs that landed flush on Martinez' face.
He's close to being an elite fighter.

Tapia vs Kirkland

Glen Tapia was the former favorite sparring partner of Pacquiao before.
Most of Pacquiao's sparring partners learned a lot-- from speed, footwork & angles. and most of them improved.

Will he overpower the bulky Kirlkland?

watch it out

when he sparred Pacquiao, years way back,.. he was slick, lighter & fast.
moving a couple of weight class & building muscle mass made him so slow to compete Kirkland's weight class category.

I think he needs a very good conditioning coach.

Kirkland's 20 months lay off didn't show its ugly face. He mauled the unbeaten Tapia. Anyway, Kirkland is no push over. He's one of the bad asses fighter out there. And exciting too.

I would like Mikey to win against Carlos.

Mikey been calling Manny & wanted to fight him this year. (Let it be & be careful what you wish for)
and I would like Pacquiao to sweep Robert Garcia's stable.

Sabillo's fight record will tell us that he can handle Rodriguez well, even in their own backyard.
But Mexican are known to be tough. If Rodriguez challenge a champion, meaning he got something that we dont know.

Another crown off our Filipino fighter's hands.

Vetyeka vs Donaire

PostPosted: Sun May 25, 2014 11:48 pm
by pinoy_usa8
if Donaire still had the pop in his fist, he can KO his opponent because vetyeka is wide open when he duck & dodge after 7 rounds esp maybe when he need a breather round.

donaire has something to prove in this fight. Team Donaire cant afford to lose 2 consecutive fights or his market will go down the drain

Hopkins vs Kovalev: sunday in manila

49 yrs old WBA/IBF champ Bernard Hopkins will try to make another history by unifying the belt again & beating the 29 yrs junior undefeated
WBO champ Kovalev.

Sergey Kovalev has a fast hands with loaded power in his gloves.
How can Hopkins overcome all that?.we all knew, he's tricky & smart.

Hopkins have the chance though,..by grabbing, holding & running 'til Kovalev gets exhausted because he never reach
until the championship round (12th). but I dont think the judges will give it to Hopkins if that will happen.

Hopkins made a mistake by challenging or picking the young & a strong puncher. it could be a nightmare & a fateful night for him.
People will watch this fight because they wanna see how Hopkins will fall or what he will do to win this kind of fight.
.
And mostly, what kind of stoppage Hopkins will fall.

Kovalev by the 9th round.

I always thought Hopkins and Mayweather are equally skillful fighter. Nobody in their respective division could outskill them. But as for the "Executioner" His skill was a fruitful effort in fight against the Russian Kovalev. Hopkins was outpunched and outworked by the younger Russian. I myself couldn't believe Kovalev has just outpointed Bernard. All brawn and lacks intelligent skill was my idea of this Russian fighter. I was all wet. He made Hopkins looked at a loss and as old as he is 49 in age, which was so remote in my calculations of the fight taking into account Hopkins obssesive conditioning maintenance regimen. I was on a dominant notion that the only chance Kovalev could beat Hopkins was via a powerplay force using his vaunted knockout power. But he was patient. He didn't waste his energy and saved it for the rest of the fight. He had Hopkins under control. He never let the lure of a knockout win saturate his gameplan.
That was a unifying title fight. I think I have a new boxer to follow and watch everytime he fights. That's Kovalev.
