hi, let me butt in -

i don't know if they have a cd out, but if you really want drums, try the billy cobham, tony royster jr. and dennis chambers concert. if im not mistaken its from one of the modern drummer festivals. i got some mp3s

I have two Billy Cobham's CD (Drum 'n' Voice - All that Groove & Billy His Best)

Please consider this one:

1.) The Pete Cater Big Band - Upswing
2.) Kitaro - Live in America

'Hope you'll enjoy!

My first choice for the most natural, analogue recorded drum would be
Dafos. Side B cut 2, The Gates of Dafos. I would love to bring it to the
rooms of the supersystems but unfortunately have been unsuccessful.

On CD there is one I like most from DMP, Robert Hohner's World
Music Tour, CD514. There is a cut called Tsunami. Quite fantasic.

Jadis,

Hope you didn't forget THE SHEFFIELD DRUM RECORD or ED GRAHAM'S HOT STIX. Two of the most prominent audiophile LPs with drum playing. DAFOS does have drums but other percussion instruments as well. SOUNDS UNHEARD OF by the great SHELLEY MANNE in the Contemporary label is a great one

ihatejazz,

nope, i love the sheffield drum lp (sold one retained one more, a real reference. dafos has more impact and it's hard to hear a 'bigger' drum recording than that.
i had hot stix, real good, but got 'sawa' na after listening to it almost
daily before.

oh, another good drum lp that i just remembered now is the
Japanese RCA 'Checkup your Sounds Vol.2, wow, D2D pa. Side 2 is
all demo tracks of instruments, including some Japanese musical instruments.

Charly Antolini's "Knockout" 180-g vinyl. As the album liner suggests, this is an audiophile legend. The drums definitely can knock out with their power and speed. Includes guitar and percussion as well. Warning: only for systems that can handle drum power and transients well.
