Me, I would like to hear this again with Ike's voigts :).

Yes, it's been 10 years since the Tonomen designed this php 10k SET amp :). And along the way, there have been modifications introduced to this kit amp by those who were brave enough to build this amp. The design topology makes the amp flexible for modding :)

Designing the TB2A3 was royal rumble, you always have to argue with Mickey on the chassis cost/design issues, Ed on simplicity of fabrication and neatness, VD on keeping the cost low/ balancing the demand vs scarcity, Arnold on the parts selection and design points, Me on keeping it Loftin White design, save cost on the interstage cap while making it clinical and recalculating the B+ vs direct coupling bias voltages. We were headless chickens getting the first unit working as being assembled by Arnold.

One of the best times of my adult life, I pay homage to my fellow tonomen! :emo: :emo: :emo: :emo:

In the initial design of TB series, my original proposal was a 6SN7-300B loftin white self biased with a center tapped filament transformer avoiding the use of a hum pot. I was told to redesign kasi sabi nilang lahat we wont make it to the cost objective!!!!

Last august i came across ebay while buying spare boards for the office, I came by a 5V center tapped 300B-2A3 power transformer. So told myself this reminds me of a tubong bastos design. So i bought them along with a potted 4.2K opt.

After reading this thread i redrawn my original proposal with parts at hand. So here it is
