ever since i got my note4, i've been doing everything on the smartphone --- email, spreadsheets, documents, calendar, etc. I've eliminated the need for a desktop with that handy gadget especially with its otg function. however, some things are easier done with a full size keyboard such as posting on ws. so, i put off posting my projects until i get the chance to sit behind a desk once more.
This is my first full Thorens TD-124 complete project. Mounted on a solid acacia plinth. new mushroom footers. New armboard. Audio Technica tonearm.
Just the first drop of the needle made me a TD-124 enthusiast. Sings lovely.
THOREN TD160 SUPER
This one is just a rewire and some preventive maintenance project. Some PRAT issues. Initially, I thought it was the suspension system until thorough checking. Found out it was caused by corrosion on the subplatter thus the belt do not hug it snugly.
DENON DP1200
This is a replinth project. As you would know, most old turntables comes with chipboard plinth and deteriorates over time with our weather.
Did a replinth with solid wood then reveneer with real wood veneer.
DUAL 1019
This is an underrated turntable here but google the model and you'll find out what we are missing. Ive always told myself that i wont be doing any dual anymore. Mechanism is crazy as a clock. But this project is so tempting thus difficult to give up. Took me half a year to get it going and I'll tell you that it is very much worth the trouble.
Technics Linear Trackers. SL10, SL7, SL5
Such a coincident that these type of turntables came to the shop at the same time so I took a photoops with them altogether.
