It's alive. My unused 1970s Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 was rejected for repair several tiimes by Omega Phils in a span of 20+ years. Last attempt was last year. Yesterday I brought the watch to a Tropical Hut watch technician. 5 min it was working. It just needed lube on the adjuster shaft.

I usually go to ebay and find similar watch. Then I watch the active bids. How it closes is usually the ebay global market price. You can up the price locally depends on your salesmanship.

Anyone into GPS watches? I recently got a Timex Global Trainer with HRM:

Sells very expensive here in Manila ~ P22k but got it cheaply from Amazon ~P5.5k. It's got a few quirks like poor GPS lock in. Garmin 310xt gets much better reviews and is also around ~P22k here in Manila.

Apologies in advance if this is not the right forum. :P :)

That is a very interesting watch. I like to have one. However I run a fixed short circuit in the neighborhood and I really have no use for the data ha ha. I know exactly how long the circuit is. I have a giveaway watch that gives me my time  My bro left me his Sunto heart monitor and watch. The chest mount is broken but I can DIY that. Again I really have no use for the data.

This TGT collects and shows a lot of data! I used it today while driving in my car to see how close my car's odometer and TGT GPS values were. They were within a few % of each other :) THis thing IS HUGE. But it's light. Anyway, at P5.5k i can't complain :)

what's the pitfall in buying high end watches and jewelries from the shops at the tourist areas in the Caribbean? We noticed that they have very competitive prices, for example an Emporio Armani Ceramica watch that my wife bought for $550 at Costco (usually cheaper than other stores here in Edmonton) was initially offered for $475 tax free, that's before baratan pa. I was told that you can bargain a lot at these stores. While we were in Port Falmouth Jamaica, there was a Zenith watch with US retail of $7,800, the guy was offering me for $5,400, a Hublot that lists for $30k was offered for $24k.. we were very tempted to buy something but not sure of the pitfalls.

Very nice. Oris watches always retain good value in the used market.
