while i am writing this, i see that my friend "don" of WS is viewing the same thread.

for those who don't yet know, Don is a wonderful artisan of audio gear. his creations, though not heard or known by many, is as good as the best that we have here in the country.

VD,
Please confirm solid state amp is acceptable..I honestly cannot participate using tube-amp w that budget..also are we limited to modern available speaker parts...or is vintage ok?

i understand joey. but for this challenge, tube SET muna. local parts or any vintage parts okay. how about an el84 (penthode) SET amp? mas mura tubes hehehe...

katuwaan lang talaga...kayang kaya mo yan...ikaw pa :D

yup of course. we're trying to decide on a venue and format. will have details in a month siguro depending on how this event develops... :)

perhaps we can invite Stuart Yaniger or Tom Schlangen of DIYAuDIO......or even Thorsten Lösch...to give lectures....

The Tubong Bastos 2A3 + Tono 12au7 + Dai-ichi Voigt/TQWT speaker combination is way under the 35K benchmark, in fact, it only costed me less than 25K :D
