taming the power

Postby vintage_dog » Wed Mar 07, 2012 10:21 pm

electric power that is. voltages at home are 245-250v and i have used AVRs to bring them down and tame them for my gear. unfortunately, i find the AVRs a bit noisy with intermittent hissing, quite annoying.

so i had edrel custom-make this heavy duty auto transformer (M6 core) with more than enough capacity (1500VA). outputs are 220V for most modern gear, 110V for the vintage gear and 100 for the Japanese gear. installed a mini breaker, IEC sockets, fuse and ammeter to monitor load. now i have peace of mind and a quiet power source. 8) :)
