Obbligato Capacitors

Postby JoeyGS » Thu Nov 17, 2011 12:31 pm

Would anyone know who supplies Obbligato capacitors locally? I need a pair of 1uf Obbligato Gold premium aluminum film caps.

Thanks

No worries...got you the first time ;)

True....especially if you are into tweaking and rolling of parts. Not too heavy on the pocket.

I wish someone would help me find this caps.

Here is my experience with the Obbligatos.

For speaker crossover, mas type ko pa rin ang Mundorf Supreme. The obbligato cannot seem to fully flesh out the mids and the highs compared to the Mundorf. Ika nga, mas dark sounding. Maybe mas approved ang ganitong sound sa iba.

For use as coupling for pre-amps, mas preferred ko ang obbligato. They sound more natural compared to the Mundorf Supreme and at the same time cheaper.

For use an AC cap for your Line Conditioner, forget about the Obbligato. They sound flat. The best is still the Mundorf supreme or the silver in oil for me.

Thanks for sharing Edwin.

Is it also good as output capacitor for pre-amps?

Yes they are very good as output caps for your preamp, amp or cd player.
