Once in a while this song gets some airplay, and it reminds me of the saying: 'they don't write these kind of songs these days anymore'. :) Beautiful lyrics and music by Rupert Holmes.

December is coming, and one of the most beautiful solo piano piece I've ever heard, fits the month to a T - warm, vibrant, and full of joy - George Winston's rendition of Pachelbel's Canon in D, from the album 'December'.

A song I have learned from my grade school teacher, such a beautifully worded song, which I have not heard anymore anywhere. Thanks to the marvel of youtube, an 'analog' video performance by John Denver, probably transferred from a Betamax or VHS tape. :)

One of the best duets I've heard in modern times. Seen this many many times and still marvel at the beautiful performance of Josh Groban and Andrea Corr, and what a pretty face she's got. :inlove:

Another wonderfully serene cut from George Winston's 'December' album, this one is called 'Thanksgiving'. The video and sonics are excellent on my pc. :)

Top Movie Quotes:

My favorite in the list: Jack Nicholson's "You Can't Handle the Truth!" - I'm imagining him saying that after an LA loss to Boston when Paul 'The Truth' Pierce scores 50 points on them. :D

I would have added Arnie Schwatz' "Hasta La Vista Baby" in the Terminator 2, Jesse Ventura's "I ain't got time to bleed" in Predator, and Robert de Niro's "You're talking to me?" in Taxi Driver, and of course, Clint Eastwood's immortal "Go ahead, make my day." I don't know how that line from the movie '300' got to the top.

A couple of British 'living-legends' - Elton John and Rod Stewart. If only there's a live video of this from their Las Vegas concert. The 'sound' is beautiful enough. Still, am not used to Rod 'whispering' parts of the song.

Mariah really being a 'diva', from the 1999 musical production of Divas Live at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. If this was on LP, I would have been on my second copy.

The ET 2 Tonearm - Tracking in Air

Postby jadis » Fri Dec 03, 2010 7:43 am

The ET2 Tonearm - Tracking in Air

One of the most endearing sight that I cherished throughout these years is the 'bonus' of being able to SEE and not just hear my tonearm of 23 years in action. The horizontal gliding motion (freely floating in a cushion of air) of the tonearm shaft and wand, moving left to right, guiding the Koetsu Rosewood Signature, can be seen gracefully tracing the delicate grooves of the vinyl, without any friction, and simply "groovin'" with just the natural traction of the vinyl as it was cut. What a sight to behold. (The music courtesy of Charlie Byrd, Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis on the Concord Direct to Disc album - Great Guitars/Straight Tracks).

The arm wand may now look longer than I thought, which looks like a 12 incher to me, but upon re-measuring, it is just 6 inches. Sigh. Shorter than the standard 9" but at least it is NOT 3". :D (Di na niya maabot...)

Closer look. Pardon the unstable hands on a P&S cam, but one does get nervous after finding out that his 12" is actually a 6. :$ Thanks for watching.

This is one of the more 'thrilling' performances of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, with Herbie Hancock (here close to age 70), and Lang Lang from China. East meets West. :)

Lang Lang a few years back performing in Bocelli's Live in Tuscany concert. Apparently, with over a billion people, it's not surprising such a prodigious talent will sprout out of China.

Seeing 'Pink' again... This time, a very 'strong' yet feminine kind of rock/pop/punk star. I love this ad.
