Hi from Canada. I've just registered in this excellent website and also starting to go back into vinyl. I'm glad I browsed through audioasylum and found a post that provided a link to this website. Just by reading the posts here, I feel like I'm back in Manila.

Welcome TNT ! I guess TNT means "Turntable Na Turntable" ka na talaga, diba? Hope to hear more from you. What's your audio rig made up of? Mahirap ata mag-turntable dyan sa Canada during -30 or -40 degrees Centigrade, baka ma-frozen ang table arm at hindi na maka-pivot to follow the grooves. hehe.

Thanks Audio Tyro. Puede na rin - turntable na turntable. Sobrang mahal na kasi ang cd dito. Actually, mas madali dito magturntable dahil kaunti ang alikabok and it is not as humid. Lots of used records on the cheap. "Cryogenics" is not a problem. Iwanan mo lang sa labas ng limang minuto, frozen delight na. At this time medyo maiinit na (at least compared to January -35C to -43C). It now hovers around -8C to 0C.

My turntable (TD160)is kept warm and cozy as it is above my dynakit ST35 which radiate a lot of heat. I guess it serves as a heater in my apartment as well. I'm using an Antique Sound Lab MG Phono Dt as my preamp. I still keep my digital stuff since have more cds than records for now.

tnt- Welcome to WS. That's a great reason for using tube gear: outside of the 'tubey' sound for the 'soul', it also provides warmth...even for your ttable! :D

Yup, Doc Jr 8156 , you are #51!

I'm sure there are other turntablists out there who haven't signed up, probably because they don't know of WS...

XLR,
My plinth is from Teres. I have no technical knowledge, logistics, time and skill to make such beauties. I have a VPI Scout too.
