I listened to the Jade cart on the rig of Jadis over the weekend, playing Carol Kidd's lp...

Smooth as silk. No grain at all. Midrange unparalleld. The soundstage was wide, deep. Nicely laid back presentation. If you think a Koetsu is bass shy, think again. The Bosendorfer Grand Imperial was in the room in front of me. Each piano key struck sounded so real and natural, so crisp. Here, indeed was a special cartridge. There must be something about using a 'stone' body in a cartridge. A precious stone at that.
If given a chance, you must listen to a Koetsu. It's like if you are a cyclist, you have to try a COLNAGO even once. Look at the craftsmanship and beauty of the final product. A work of art you can look at and listen to.
Now I know what mandym meant about listening to a Koetsu, in this case a jade, before meeting St. Peter...now that I've heard it, I hope I don't meet him so soon though(as another guest of Jadis pointed out)...
