Tono Tonearm Lifter (TonaL)

Maraming salamat sa inyong pagtangkilik! I'll try very hard not to disappoint. I am looking at 2 weeks to finish the 6 orders. The problem if any will be if I run out of materials or if a special tool breaks (that's why I am extra careful in machining the parts).

Anyway, I have started to make VD's unit, it is looking beautiful! If the prototype sample is "botique", this one is "industrial grade". Masculine and heftier. Each type has it's own appeal.

Doc Jr 8156, I haven't forgotten about you. I will keep a set of spare materials in case you place your order.

Again, maraming salamat sa inyo.

Mandym

Orders 7th and up, I can't promise a delivery date because I might be short of materials, but you might want to place an order anyway.

I've just checked my Oracle Delphi and will need a plinth-to-tonearm centerline height of 4". Woudl prefer all aluminum/steel with no brass

However with the SME arm I'm not sure there's sufficient clearance between the platter and armboard "pod" so this may or may not work out. I'd still like to try though so let me know when you're ready to give it a go!

robert, can you PM to me a pic of your table. thanks.

OK, will take a shot tonight from directly overhead with arm in "return" position and then we can discuss options. Thanks for the advice!

I would like to do that since it will be a nice public introduction for the TonaL. If an exhibitor is willing to have the TonaL assisting his T/T, I can set it up for him. After that, nothing else has to be done since it will be operating by itself.

Advantages for the exhibitor:
1. He can carry on conversations without anymore watching out for the end of the record.
2. The novelty alone will enhance visits to the exhibitor's room. Many who have read about it here at Wired State will probably want to see the real thing in operation.

Living voice / consonance room will definitely have a TT with TonaL in action. (If TonaL is transferable from my NoTT to Opera TT) :D

Ah red76, so it was you! I remember someone wished for it, I had thought it through, convinced myself that it could be done with a magnet, but could'nt come out with the mechanism that will pull the arm straight up rather than have it dragged accross the record surface. I let it stew at the back of my head for over a year until...

Gad! The solution has been staring at me in the face, and at the millions of motorists on the SLEX. Up down, up down, up down. DAMN TOLLGATES! The mechanism that will make the system work!

And that, my friend, in short is the story of how your wish has been granted. Interesting di ba?

boy oh boy...vinyl playing has never been this worry-free 'till now.

this wins my vote for the 'most practical accessory' for audio!
