New Kid on the Block

Postby amxtubeaudio » Sun Sep 14, 2008 7:40 pm

We are glad to introduce a new mono block set with matching preamp. 60 watts RMS each mono block using 6550 tube in UL connection. May be wired to Triode operation with output of 30 watts RMS each mono block. It has built in bias meter so re-biasing is quick and simple. It can take other types of tubes like KT88, KT77 etc. Preamp stage uses 6n1P NOS Russian Military Grade, tube rectified, fitted with ALPS Remote controlled motorized potentiometer and relay operation source selector.

Congratulations Andrew!

Neat looking combo. I'm sure it's a well sorted out audio product, as usual. I'm looking forward to visiting your new premises on my next trip home from down here in Sydney.

I'm a happy owner of a classic looking, thick chrome facia AMX SE (2 x 807, 2 x 6sn7, 1 X 5ar4) which I purchased from your Makati shop in 2004. It seems to be able to happily drive a variety of different loudspeakers that I have collected over the years. I don't even remember the approx. power output of this wonderful little amp. Jog your memory maybe?

Cheers and more power to you!

Hello Doc Boyong,

Nice to hear from you. I am happy you are enjoying still the SE 807. The output of that amp is 10 watts rms per channel. The reason it can drive various loudspeakers well, is due to its low internal impedance, which allows it to dump all its power to the loudspeakers. Your amp has a special circuit configuration in the output transformer. ( Sorry if its too technical)

Continue to enjoy your amp! :)
