NOT MATCHED QUAD/PAIR, BUT MATCHED LP AND CD ALBUMS

Postby ESaudio » Wed Jun 11, 2008 11:39 am

Mods, hope this falls within the topic.

We may have various matched quads, matched pairs or balanced quads ( 8) ) of our favorite power tubes. But guys, please share some of your LP albums with matching or with counterpart CD albums. Just name at least three to five matched albums.

Unfortunately, i don't have matching LP and CD albums cause i have yet to buy my first ever LP album. But i do intend to buy counterpart LP albums of some of my favorite CDs.

Good luck!

Patrick,

When you say matched, does this refer to an LP with a counterpart CD, or the digital master itself is comparable to the analog master of the same recording?

- Kornet
- Discovered Again/Dave Grusin
- Cantate Domino
- Susan Wong Albums
- Patricia Barber Albums
- Time Changes Album of Dave Brubeck
- Pharos
- others...

these albums were pressed in high-grade vinyls and CDs/SACDs; you just have to look for them or order them through Acoustic Sounds or Music Direct.

Jon, just plain counterparts with same titles without reference to the comparative qualities of their recordings.

Tnx!

Oh boy! Para'ng ayaw ko nang mag take ng first step just to buy my first LP or else, tuloy-tuloy na yan. A compulsive buyer that i am. And, you're right Jon. Almost new releases of audiophile LPs have their counterpart CDs and not the other way around.

Manghihiram na lang ako ng counterpart LPs. :)
