This particular watch got my interest when i saw it on the net. The on-line shop was selling it for $100, NOS in a box and running on a circa 1960s movement, FontaineMelon FHF 96 . I said to myself, this might be worth collecting. The shop still has 4 units of this watch, with different dials. I chose this one amongst the rest. Good thing about my contact is that she would ask if i want to change the declared value of the item, and they never write watch in the declaration, they just indicate timing measurement tool or horological instrument. I have ordered 2 watches from them already, and they were delivered to my house directly. :D

Some info about the FHF 96:

Manufacturer FHF
Caliber 96 (ST)
Number of jewels 17
Escapement Anchor with pallets
Balance Nickel
Shock protection(s) Incabloc
Balance cock direction clockwise
Hairspring stud moveable
Regulator type Fonto
Movement construction Fork
Escapement wheel, Fourth wheel, Third wheel
Center wheel
Mainspring barrel
Features SCD
Functions Hour, minute, second
Beats per hour 18000
Size 111/2'''

This watch has the smallest Case size in my garage, measuring at 34 mm. only.

This will definitely undergo a strap makeover, but will try to find the best 18 mm that's available.

Thanks for viewing. :)

sosy ka na arnold. i've noticed that you have been evolving in taste. same here. use to criticize swiss watches as over priced, over hyped trinkets but in the end doon din ako bumagsak. later nasa first tier watches ka na. breguet, patek, a lange etc...

Citizen Automatic Chrono Caliber 8110

I'll quote this from another forum, about the 8110 movement ;)

Quite a marvel of a movement. Just like the Seiko 6139 movement which preceded and was probably the closest market competitor, these are column wheel vertical clutch chronographs. The Citizens arrived to market a couple of years after the Seiko, but added 28,800 bph (vs 21,600 bph for the Seiko) and the flyback feature. In terms of modern chronographs, the only chronographs with this combination of construction, features and functions are currently available in watches from the likes of Patek, Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Franck Muller and Vacheron Constantine. As best as I can tell they are the least expensive, most sophisticated chronographs ever made. Even with all these features, they are also comparatively small.
