My dream was to be like Jim Steranko.
His detailed style of illustration upped the level of comic book drawings when compared to the simpler styles of the likes of Ditko and Kirby.

I think the one that made my jaw drop most was Cockrum's creation Colossus. It was the first time I ever saw shiny metal done so well in the comic book medium. That was a game changer IMO, pencil technique that spilled over to Iron Man and other metal characters. Cockrum also changed forever how the female form would be depicted in the Marvel Universe, strong and athletic.
