While waiting for prime materials (birch plywood) I decided to buy a good know plywood brand (sta clara) and ordered 3 sheets of half inch plywood. I finally figure out what 734 in qrd734 stood for... :geek:
Had two sheets cut to dimensions and added edge banding...
Image
Ended the evening completing half of the edge clean up....

Completed cleaning the edge banding then proceeded to cutting the boards to size. Then proceeded to the glue up...
Image
It looks decent enough that I just might keep the wood finish....

Got most of the fins installed but the sides since I still need to edge band it...
Image
Cut the excess, added the edge bands, sanded smooth and sprayed sanding sealer...
Image
Did not install the end caps so I can properly spray them... Here is the second one.

Hate working with ugly plywood talaga, even with light sanding I went thru its veneer... So I decided to stain the assy....
Image
Stain dries longer than most finish.... Especially if you watch it |(

Got it home, still has odor from the finish but I just keep it in an open space after I hear it....

Happiness is a nice live listening space...
Later on added the qrd 11 as well just to hear how it goes.

I would like to invite diy'ers interested in a new tool that Bosch ordered with our recommendation (cab1net.com members). It is the Bosch GKS65GCE as seen here http://www.toolstop.co.uk/bosch-gks65gc ... 40v-p52512
And it comes with a 1.6meter track which is very handy for making long cuts on sheet goods. We have organized a one time group buy to get the item at a lower price plus an eyeball (eb) will be set on the given day the item arrives.
If interested, please sign up here http://cab1net.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1117
The price is on that thread as well as other information that might be vital in the acquisition of the product.

Estimated price is lower than 15k for the kit Noly, we hope to acquire it around 11k or better(not definite but I believe very feasible). The kit comes with a 1.6m rail which is enough for cutting the short side of the whole 4' x 8' board but yes, there would be a longer rail available in the near future and yes, you can connect two rails to form a longer one.
Cheers

Again on the Bosch GSB 18-2-LI...
Image
The lightest and most compact cordless drill/driver in its class
Lowest weight: only 1.4 kg for perfect handling and low user fatigue
Newly developed 2-speed planetary gearbox for powerful screwdriving and drilling applications in wood (30 mm) and metal (10 mm), and impact drilling in masonry (10 mm)
At 187 mm it has the shortest design in its class for optimum handling, especially when performing drilling and screwdriving applications overhead and in tight spaces
Professional quality 10 mm Auto-Lock drill chuck
Bosch Electronic Cell Protection (ECP): protects the battery against overload, overheating and deep discharge
Integrated LED light for illuminating the work area, even in dark places
Practical belt clip keeps the tool within reach at all times

It would be like comparing the functions of these
Image
To this...

And being the lightest, most compact drill driver in its class... It is very nice to use for longer durations...
Comparing it to its big brother in size
