** Formula 1 2010 **

Postby Mamimili » Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:26 am

Who cares about the date, 2009 is over, i am in hibernation, what to do until the new season starts??
We might as well start with the team / driver list as it stands to day (well, as of last night)

Updated 2010 driver list:

Brawn GP - No confirmed drivers.
Red Bull - Sebastian Vettel & Mark Webber.
McLaren - Lewis Hamilton.
Ferrari - Felipe Massa & Fernando Alonso.
Williams - Rubens Barrichello & Nico Hülkenberg.
Renault - Robert Kubica.
Force India - No confirmed drivers.
Toro Rosso - Sebastien Buemi.
Campos - Bruno Senna.
1MalaysiaF1 - No confirmed drivers.
Manor - No confirmed drivers.
USF1 - No confirmed drivers.

Current drivers without confirmed seats:
Kimi / Rosberg / Button / Sutill / Kobyashi / Glock / Heidfeld / Liuzzi / Kovalainen / Grosjean / Trulli / Nakajima / Alguersuari.
Add Fisichella as he wants back in at Force India or any other team.
So enough to fill all vacant seats as of now. Expect Sauber to be confirmed as the 13th team unless the money fails to come in.
There is still doubt that Renault will be on the grid next year.

Other names in the hat:
de la Rosa / Piquet Jr / Soucek / Fauzy / Davidson / Sato / Klien / Wurz / Rahal / di Grassi
Of these only Davidson is worthy of a seat, Fauzy as 1MalaysiaF1 test/reserve driver.

My best daily links to F1
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/
http://www.autosport.com/news/
http://www.planetf1.com/

The best for links to live practice is on F1 Fanatic
http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/
The blog owner knows his stuff. This used to be my favourite site, but sane informed comments from long term F1 fans (a guy called Journyer from Manila posts excellent articles) seem to have have given way to a bunch of kids who know nothing.
Anyway, the site runs a live practice blog (and every session of the weekend) which posts links to live practice, as the FIA shuts down the live TV, new links pop up and to date they have done an excellent job keeping live F1 on my screen.

When available, i use BBC radio and turn off Slater
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bb ... orts_extra

For information on engine / gearbox use and stats in general i use
http://www.f1wolf.com/

Sounds like Brawn will not meet Button's salary demands, bad news for Kimi if McLaren are looking to save on driver salary and want No1 on their car :(

Bruno Senna is not being paid by Campos nor is he paying for his seat.
His name is expected to bring in the sponsers.
So if he does not perform and fails to attract cash, it could be a short season!

Jenson is a bargain and brings with him the No.1 sticker for the car. But I prefer to have Kimi back at McLaren with a Championship-capable car

Your chance to win Shumacher's 94 car.
I was an early bidder, even though it's an illegal car driven by a cheat!
My maximum bid was $25

This USF1 team is a real mystery... are they for real? Anybody seen the supposed SpeedTV coverage of USF1?

Cosworth say USF1 have kept to the engine payment schedule.
The FIA say they have paid the $440,000 entry fee.
That's about it for news!

Wow, that's a mouthful  I'd remain optimistic with USF1, but I have to admit it's very hard

If they hired drivers it would be easier to see them as a genuine entry

There can't be too many reasons for a visit!
IF i was Kimi, big if, i would take $5 million to join and $1 million for a win, zero for any other podium position.
Yes Kimi is my favourite driver but i am getting really fed up of all this BS, he says he wants to win, nothing else matters so put up or shut up.

Same goes for other teams/drivers. The season is over, a months contractual PR work means nothing so they should all name their drivers now.
Seat fitting takes time, sponsers need time, everybody needs time so quit the cloak and dagger stuff and get on with the job of building cars and fitting drivers to cars. Say I.

It seems Kimi is saving up for his future. Not that he needs it. But he is willing to lose a race seat over salary and a competitive car. All or nothing. Cash and the crown. Go Kimi!

And Damon Hill won the 1994 British Grand Prix!

Thanks to Star Sports for bringing in Formula 1 Classics while we wait the 2010 season :)

What a joke, even though he had the chance to preview and get it right, slater still managed to get Alesi and Berger mixed up, after Berger had retired
