raf, sarap ng choices mo. parang " would you care for some ribeye or some lobster?" in your case you can have both.

ot: which do you prefer if you had to choose one; titanium or carbon frame? for comfort? for performance?

hey tonyboy!

the argon isn't that pricey, i only use this for triathlon and time trials although it's quite fun w/ it's steep angle. Took me a while though to be comfy in it. Looks like a fast bike, it's a bang for the buck purchase. It's a proven performer in Kona, home of the world championships of Ironman.

I prefer the feel of titanium over carbon, medyo patay ang feel ng carbon. Though now a lot of my riding buddies have the best of both worlds, a titanium frame with carbon tubing. Yan ang the best of both worlds. The seven though is a bit of an investment though i think it's money well spent as each frame is customized to your size and specs. They measure you twice w/ a long distance tel interview to get you riding habits, experience etc. You can choose color, stickers, you name it.

Me i prefer pure titanium as I don't have to baby it so much, worry bout it rusting ever, or cracking. I choose carbon parts like handlebar, seatpost, cranks, para soft feel pa ren.

Hope this helps bud. Highly reco the seven, check out sevencycles.com

Sorry Tonyboy forgot to answer bout performance, IMHO carbon vs titanium is decided on stiffness. But then if the ride is quite long like a tour stage then comfort comes into play. In my experience the faster CAT A riders are keen on stiffer bikes while the novice riders are more on comfort.

Sorry kung OT mods

Raffy O! Kumusta? Long time. Great to hear from you.

"Novice riders are more on comfort," does 'novice' include severely overweight riders? :D

Re: custom Seven, how far can they go on the comfort scale?

I'm not very tall and my leg length to torso length ratio is higher than average so I've been pondering changing over from my ill-sized carbon to a custom one.

I like the Seven because the artwork is not very loud. I really hate the feeling of being on a great bike but arriving at the finish after the riders at the front of the peloton has already taken their shower, lunch, and siesta. :D

Send my regards to your bro. We used to have lots of fun spinning at Rockwell in the early mornings.

thanks for the feedback. i always wanted a titanium racer since the early 90's. litespeed was the first titan bike that caught my eye. i know all about seven. my dream bike is the traditional geometry of the alaris with all the carbon goodies. i had myself measured by goyo and just got a fuji hybrid but once i'm able to maintain a 30 kph average and keep up with the pelotan of 50 year olds in moa then maybe 3, 4, 5, 6,......!!!! darn! parang audio na rin!

Russ,

Yes will tell Larry, he is a full fledged roadie now : )

As far as seven they canmake it comfy as you want re soft and not stiff, they build the frame arond you as fit is their primary concern. As mentioned the selling process is quite tedious as they measure every limb in your body before building the frame. (i suppose this would go for indendent fabrication bikes and parlee custom bikes as well, mas mahal lang nge yon)
It's definitely a keeper, as how would you sell it after if it's built for you diba? That's why I think it's okay to spend a bit on it. A forever frame.

Tonyboy,

Fuji hybrid? Yes good bikes, pero in Goyos store mas bagay sayo Parlee or Indendent Fabrication bikes! Kung ala audio ito, spend on that custom frame for the right fit then build oyur "system" around it.

Dame dito riders w/ a lot of experience and great taste. Merlin, Stereophile, MSM...dame pa

happy riding

Thanks Raffy :) Incidentally, there's a new bike shop, MT. PRO BIKES set to open this July 5 in Pasong Tamo. They will be carrying new brand names such as Iron Horse, Cube, Commencal, Montague, Atomlab, CKT, Kore, Funn and The. Their store will be the biggest bike shop in the Philippines which will feature an indoor ramp/play area :D
