photo printing / framing / display?

Postby troporobo » Tue Feb 11, 2014 5:24 pm

I am looking for advice from the serious photographers here on two things:

1. Where can I get high quality prints made? I don't need large format, nothing bigger than about 11x16 or the equivalent

2. Where can I find studio-style display systems? I have seen photos put up in plain glass, hung from fine wire that is stretched horizontally and able to be reconfigured for exhibitions. That sort of thing appeals for my office.

Maybe there are other ways to display that I have not seen. Any and all advice appreciated - TIA

Robert,

For quality prints, I bought a canon pro-100 printer, instead of having it outsourced. This can print up to to 12in x 18in size paper.

For framing, yes, Jamants can help you with that :)

For home printing also please include in budget monitor calibration hardware. . . Or pwede old fashioned eyeball of output vs monitor.

The Canon store close to my office (MoA) hasn't had stock for over a month now.

Kung out of stock Canon papers, any recommendations for a decent 3rd party alternative for use on a Canon inkjet? Thanks!

Heads up for Ross Capili's One Workshop studio in LRI bldg. They photo print in canvas and most likely on paper. Boast about their 100 year ink technology as well as non yellowing paper stock. Po

I've also been using Ross for critical printing needs. Very nice people also. And they are using archival inks and museum quality photo and watercolor paper.
