hi sir Arnold,

as i read the entire thread i found that there were additional members interested to attend the workshop. not that i know everything in photography already but rather i approximate that our WS friends would benefit more on such workshop especially on the basic aspect of photography. in line with this i am most willing to give up my slot on the waiting list to the next in line.

ps... after the workshops, pahiramin nyo ko ng notes nyo please

with very kind regards,
fer

hi arnold is that a D300 for your avatar? i was playing with one the day before, must say very nice quality camera and the chip is excellent, holds color and detail well. i was seriosly considering defecting to nikon from canon after testing the D3, however i read nikon is coming out with the bigger version later this year after photokina i may just ditch all my canon pro gears and go nikon the clincher was the brand new 24pc shift lens by nikor really well worth the change! also another reason being, canon mk3 cost usd8000 and it is never in stock! the d3 is only half the price and can seriously compete against the mk3 and this is coming from a long term canon user!

Hi Chester, how I wish. That's my D40 with Tamron 90mm f/2.8 mounted.

Nikon is coming up with a 25MP full-frame DSLR. Maybe when I hit the lotto, I could buy one. :D

I am working also on some sposorship. I may be able to have some T-shirts given away, and some discounts for gears. But it's not Canon :) Those in the dark side may benefit from this ;)

well in my honest opinion the new nikon D3 after doing some tests is certainly a major player and will eventually tip the balance from canon already the D3 can perform superbly under low light situations, also what comes as an extended film speed for canon, is standard for Nikon with film speeds up to iso6400 and still be capable of shooting high quality images.
the next D serious is going to be a serious contended to the MK3 canon and if
the new model works well with the raw processing software that i am using, i will very likely trade in my canon gears for a Nikon. should not be difficult as i am already using nikkor glasses with my canon anyway. and with my experiences with nikkor lenses, i am very much in agreement that nikkor glasses are far more superior than canon glass. two things prompted me for the conversion,

1) at about 12 megapixels which is half of that of the MK3 it can already produce very high quality images what more when it rolls out the 24 megapixels?not bad for a Sony full size chip
2) 24mm PC Shift lens by nikkor. i was playing with this lens and i am very impressed by the coating, this lens is said to have the least chromatic
aberration in its class, often times i get frustrated with canons 24mm pc shift lens and i usually get color fringing on the highlights.

Any chance for any sponsors carrying gadget infinity products (trigger and slave)? Something not too pricey that I like to play with and hopefully learn to use from thie workshop  .

Quiel, I can bring mine. I have the RF-04 transmitter and two PT-04 receivers. I have an SB-28 we can use as remote flash.

I'm trying to work out something using Nikon's CLS. If I'm successuful with this, I can also demonstrate the technicalities of setting up a CLS with one SB-800 and two SB-600. Technical lang ha...

Important:

To all those who listed. The date is set to be on July 5 already.

If you cannot attend, please take your name off the list so those in the wait list who would like to attend can.

Update:

I have 20 Nikon shirts to be given away to the participants!

I'm still working on the Nikon lenses and camera discount ;)
