I just discovered that food photography is one of the most difficult

But let me share this shot taken while having lunch at Misawa Airport at Aomori Prefecture in Japan.

Arnold,

There are literally hudreds of books on food photography. I have a chef-photo hobbyist friend so I can live off his "collection." :D

Two I've thumbed through are:

Digital Food Photography by Lou Manna
Food Photography by Smith

What you'll notice is that food photography (be ready for studio lights!) itself is half the battle. The other half is food styling.

I personally will choose not to pick this battle on food photography. It is sheer torture for me to play around with platings, etc. and not eat the subject! :D

it's true, it's one of the difficult subjects. the food, especially their style, arrangement and color, must appear tastier and more delicious on the pictures that the real ones. otherwise, it will not ignite one's appetite to eat in your restaurant. lots and lots of references about food photography. masarap kung may toyo at kanin, na may adobo at pritong talong na katabi.

You are probably correct, with some/most foods i am a pig :D

Pig's liver for full strength, add any part of the pig for a milder taste, mix with pig or lamb offal if you want to be original, onion and garlic, grind it up, form into meatballs and cook in a heavy frying pan until a crust starts to form. Add red wine to the juice for a bit of zing in the sauce.....
