Thank you, macolive. You did a nice capture too! Did you take this with your Fuji X100? The Fuji X100 is a great camera. I was about to pull the trigger on that one a few months ago but decided to just get the D800 when the price went down last winter. At the time, I wanted to have a small convenient camera that I can put into my jacket's pocket.
Now I'm into bird photography. So far I'm using the AF Nikkor 80-200mm f2.8D with a Kenko N-AF 1.7X Teleplus SHQ TC in the meantime I haven't decided on which lens to get either the AF-S 300mm f4D with a TC-14 EII or the new version AF-S 80-400mm f4.5-5.6G VR.

Thanks. however, when i saw your photo, it made me realize that i was lazy when i took the image. Your image was well conceived. I used a hasselblad 503cw on this one with Portra 400. The clouds (or smog) were low so that acted like a diffuser fro all the building lights. Wish i had a rich dark sky.
I was itching for a D800 while I was in Hong Kong but I think i need to take stock of what i've got and see if i can sell some to get the D800. I'm also craving for a PC-e lens but that will have to wait.
I've seen your bird shots....fantastic..i don't think i have the patience for that though.

I hope you wouldn't sell your Hassie 503CW now that the V System is phased out. It is an iconic camera.
Sometimes, I still do film. I still have my first SLR camera a Canon FT with a 50mm f1.2 lens & 2 other lenses. I wish I kept my rangefinders. I also have the Nikon 401s, F80 & F100. I usually get lazy and only use the F80 & F100 lately. Films are cheap here & so also is the film processing & transfer to DVD @ Costco.
There was a time when I was looking into the PC lens as I do some architectural shots for commercial purposes on an account which I am on retainer basis. With the D800 & its Perspective Control, I somehow manage to use that PP in camera and dropped the idea of a PC lens.
Fog makes some good mood shots. But the smog in Hong Kong is really terrible. I was doing a shoot from Victoria Peak at one time and the whole city is blanketed by this brownish haze.
Here's one that I took several years ago with a Sony DSC-R1. This was in my backyard here in MD during winter.
