Great shots, setup1. Seems Diafine and Agfa go well together. I've long been curious with Diafine but i can't seem to find. I browse through flickr on diafine/film combos and more often than not, it does not seem to agree with Tmax and Tri-x - the middle tones seem to get drowned out in blacks and whites. Middle tones seem just fine in your shots. Did you scan prints or negs?

Thanks Marty!

Scanned negs with basic PP (remove dust, focus and mild leveling) using a vintage Elements 2.0 that came with the Canon 8400 flatbed. I've been so happy with the APX100/Diafine combo that I bought 2 100ft. rolls from Freestyle before they went away for good....

I have no experience with T-Max, but have had drowned mid tones with Diafine/Tri-X shot in bright daylight like this. Wrong ISO maybe?

For indoor/low light the combo has been OK IME. But I had to experiment with various ISO settings until I was satisfied. I posted some Hi-Fi Show '09 pics at the Harana Forum. Most of the frames were shot with Tri-X and a few with HP5+, both souped in Diafine. IIRC, I used ISO1000 for Tri-X and the box recommended ISO800 for HP5+.

I've seen your pictures, you are gifted with a good eye, that's talent!

Thanks so much! Coming from a man of immense talent... I still hope to see the whole process through, not relying on the local photo shop to process the negs. omeday when i get the time, I'd like to get my learn to process and enlarge my negatives. Tri-X and T-Max too pricey for me but Fuji Neopan 400 suits me just fine. I'd offer to trade you for some Agfa just to see how Neopan 400 and Diafine expose... Thanks again.
