photography is one of my love.
in fact, before sport shooting, big bikes, and audio, photography it was :D
i used to have a Minolta SR & a Canon EP, and i was already contemplating of getting a Mamiya 645... but i got distracted by circumstances.

my only camera now is a Nikon coolpix 2100 i use in my work.

i'm planning to go back next year.

do you do this professionally or just as a hobby?

all my SLRs plus their lenses were hijacked by my kid brother and sold them to buy a gift for his girlfriend, now wife :x ... but that was a long time ago.

if i should go back, what would be a nice "entry-level" professional-quality camera could you recommend? are there still 645s available?

photography

Postby eestrera » Tue Nov 07, 2006 6:13 pm

It's nice to know that a lot of guys here are also into photography. Been dabbling with photography too for some time but only when time permits. Never got a chance to study so everything is pretty much through experimentation and reading. Here are a couple of shots I just want to share:

Old lightouse in Ilocos (old pic using my fomer Nikon f90X):

View from the lighthouse (old pic using my fomer Nikon f90X):

Power: double meaning, literally a power line and the cross as a symbol of power

Image

Big Foot: A close-up shot of my son's foot while he was a baby. While baby feet are considered tiny and cute, a close-up shot kinda gives you a different size perspective.

Is this the slightly old man who stays there? Mabait na tao at napakaraming kwento. Mag-isa nga lang sya dun. Sometimes I feel sad for him but sometimes I think that maybe that's what he wants, peace. And with that view up there, you can have all the peace you want. I wonder if he's still there. And I wonder what bed he's using now. :D

Santorini Island

Postby migs » Tue Nov 07, 2006 9:41 pm

Just discovered this nice thread. Just like everybody else here one of my other interest is photography, specially travel photography....
They say that Santorini island in Greece is the most photographed in the world. Its part of what they call the caldera, a ring of islands that were part of the rim of a crater. Some pics I took last year when I had the privilege to visit
