Ant,

Like your pics. Nice composition and nice subject.

Sir rtsyrtsy,
just a suggestion. Maybe we can have a theme per month (example LP's) and try to encourage members to submit photos related to that particular theme. Would be nice to see the different creative interpretations we could gather around here in ws. Had fun browsing through the different members pics.

Thanks,

anybody know about the Leica Digilux 3 or its Lumex Panasonic counterpart? Thinking of getting one but wishing for some comments from owners if there are any.

Hi Russel, thanks for the interest :)
As for the moon shot, I used the Meade ETX-90 connected to my camera with a t-mount adapter. Effective focal length of the ETX90 is 1250mm with an aperture of f/13.5 which is really too small. The images I get are not really that sharp. Want to see a really sharp moon shot? Check this thread at www.dyxum.com - it's the post by TanKM.
I will have to try to add a focal reducer to my scope and hope to improve the image by a wide margin as it will help focus more light into the sensor :P but it will reduce the focal length somewhere to 600mm (I think).
Local skies are bluer than ever :D
Hope this helps :)

Film Scanner - Recos

Postby zenaudio » Fri Nov 17, 2006 8:07 am

Hello fellow photographers,

My old flatbed scanner just conked out.

I'm taking the opportunity to replace it with a scanner that can also do a good job of scanning 35 mm film (negatives). Even if I am using a DSLR, I still like film, eg, just love the bokeh of a vintage rangefinder lens. (Don't want to start an analog vs digital debate  ) But after the analog capture would like to use the digital workflow.

Any recommendations on a locally available scanner with good film scanning capability?

Thanks.
