I'm not sure what you are trying to say. As best as I can tell, you want a headphone but you do not really like in-ear headphones.

My recommendation is the AKG K414P (which the AKGK26 repackaged). It might cost a little more than 2K.

1. It will be more comfortable that In-ears when used for the computer.
2. It is foldable and portable for the times when you want to use it with an MP3 player.

Check out the audiophile stores.

KOSS Ksc-75 is still the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

JVC Marshmallows are really good replacements for ipod earbuds

I see lots of commuters with their ipod earbuds being blasted full volume
I cringe every time i hear/see someone that does that

sabog tenga nila nun
Imagine the airconditioner, the engine rumbling, cars outside the vehicle. Ang lakas at ang dami ng ingay pag nag cocommute, tapos ittodo pa nila volume. Aray.

These people ought to invest on some affordable/decent sounding iems or any sealed earbuds. Think of it this way, by buying these, you're paying for the treatments you are going to ask for in the future when you're deaf

Sennheiser PX100 -- This is what I've tried with the iPod and it sounds really good, IMHO one of the best in its class, with a surprising amount of clean, deep bass for its size. It's also very convenient coz it folds, and has a hard plastic case with cable organizer, for safely carrying it around when not in use.

I have been using the Etymotic Research er-4p for more than 3 years now. Excellent sound for under $200 street price.

When used with the 3-flanged ear tips all outside noise is blocked out. You can listen to your music without having to crank up the volume to compete with ambient noise. Excellent for use on a plane or in a room with fans or the A/C on.

On long flights I can play my music with the volume at 50% on the ipod and still hear it very clearly and without the noise of the engines. I often leave the ear tips on even when I am not listening to the music just to block out the sound. It makes overseas flights a lot less fatiguing.

Came across this review today of 16 IEMs and thought it might be useful for those of you interested in looking for earphones:
