Postby jamants » Thu Sep 15, 2005 12:00 pm

I have some songs on my Ipod that i ripped from my bro's itunes> He used WAV format. Now, i need more space on my Ipod, is there a way for me to make these wav files to AAC?

hi jay,
me again
go to edit-preferences-importing-import using AAC
then go back to your file, then right click-convert to AAC

jay,
if you want to convert wav files to AAC, i dont think the ipod itself is capable of doing it.
you would have to do it on your pc using third party softwares.
i use EphPod which i downloaded lang. with this program you can transfer the songs in your ipod to the pc. once the files are in your pc na, you can simply drag and drop to itunes and do the conversion, then synch back to your ipod

sabi nung iba pwede raw drag and drop in itunes alone using manual sttings though i havn't tried that yet.

hope this helps.

Hi jamants I was going to say download iPodrip to extract the contents of your iPod but it is an OS X app. In your last post it turns out you are PC based. :( try going to www.ipodlounge.com to look for Win based extractors.

Pareng Jamants, the application Anapod Explorer 8 should allow you to do what you're planning :)

Here's what i accidentally digged up from my pc file. I had no inkling or idea in the past, exactly in 1999, when i bought a Sony TAE9000ES preamp (+ 5ch amp) wherein i upgraded the firmware with 2.50v from Sony Japan. I just discovered that the content of the firtware is actually as written:

Contents of the modification (Ver 2.50):

"This firmware adds decoding of MPEG-AAC audio as used by digital satellite broadcasting in Japan. This is the only real upgrade offered in this firmware version. Details on possible bug fixes from version 2.01 are unknown."

No wonder the sound of iPod is so amazing.
