I chanced upon this gadget for the Ipod over at Audioworld, nad I could swear that there was a subwoofer somewhere hidden to my dismay. I swear this IS the best speaker so far for the IPOD short of connecting it to your High end system! I - DECK from Monitor Audio

tatalope,

i can't remember how the creative nano looks like, but it comes in two capacities: 512 kb and 1 gb. according to the price listed in the short write up, they cost less than the i-pod shuffle.

Sabi ni STEVE JOBS, 16 gig NANDflash memory chip ang gagamitin sa next REGULAR-size IPOD. Baka hindi na daw HARD-DRIVE. Kaya they will definitely be smaller too! Expect them 2006 2nd or 3rd quarter!!!

hein, iam just curious. Is that the actual picture of the 16 G nandflash? I am surprised as that formfactor (side brazed PDIP) is kinda archaic for this application. It would be very hard to come up with a smaller device when you a have device like this. Was expecting for it come as surface mount device.

The one above is just a PROTOTYPE demonstrator. The actual production NAND chip will be surface-mounted like that of the NANO. See below.

tatalope,

actually, 16gb is a big increase in capacity. the highest capacity of flash memory in the market now i think is only 4gb.

you might have confused the nano, which uses flash memory with the ipod, which is a hard disk-based player.
