I had good results (as many others too in this forum) with the Sennheiser PX100. Happy to help :) :) :)

I use a sennheiser px-100 too. Happy with it. But a recent purchase of a Koss portapro impressed me the most. Now I carry the koss most of the time. It's more comfortable

for a budget of 3k, you might want to try the sennheiser px100 or the koss porta pro.

if you know someone in the u.s. who can bring them home for you, you may spend 79.99 on a grado prestige sr60i, or get them at rockwell for a bit more, at least instant gratification. just charge it on your card and have a few less meals out to make up the difference from your budget. maybe you can audition them as well at rockwell...

be warned though that the grado is designed in such a way that everyone around you will hear what you do...and its also a bit uncomfortable at first...

Dear Jacksparrow

It helps us if you let us know what your preferences and budget are:

I like the AKG Hi-fi series.

I have the old K-141 and I've felt them to be neutral and accurate sounding.
But headphone are very personal choices. Especially with regards to comfort and sound. That is because we have different head and ear shapes. What works for you; may not work for me. So try before you buy.

Up until now am still enjoying this bang for the buck headphones. I actually like it better than the PX100 and PX200 ;)
