wireless headphones to save marriage, suggestions please

Postby jamants » Tue Jun 08, 2010 11:15 pm

the wife sleeps early, i want to watch tv, listen to music and play red dead redemption until late. since i was told by older married friends (note rvc, detubo, KD and joe3p) that marriage is about compromise, I would now need wireless headphones. :D

can anyone recommend sub Php8,000 wireless headphones that I can get. As long as it sounds decent, and as long as it's reliable i'm good.

jay,

i'm not updated with current local prices of headphones, with your budget, i think the best candidate would be philips phones. can't remember the models, but if remember correctly, some astro outlets have wireless philips under 8k. alternately, sennheiser used to have corded models designed for tv use--they have 10-meter cords.

checking headroom.com, the sennheiser rs 160 costs usd200 at headroom, while the rs 180 is usd300. the former is closed back, so it might be a better option because sound leakage is less.

I have the Sony MDR-IF140 which I bought at AV Surfer Alabang Town Center for around 3,000 or 3500. Sound quality is decent given the price. Reception of the headphones is also quite good since I almost have to be behind the tv before the sound cuts off. Also, no sound leak from the headphones to bother whoever is beside you. Headphone uses only 1 AAA battery so not heavy.

Bottom line is....I am still married

Hey J.,

I still use my fave senns or akg. I just made a long headphone extension cord. I got some twin-lead microphone or patch cable, aka balanced cable - 2 wires + ground or even a quad-lead, aka 4 wires + ground from audiophile. Together with a male plug - female jack set, your ready to rock and roll hanggang umaga!

+1

Wireless headphone is overrated...get long wire extension ...no dead batteries to worry about...smaller headphones...always good connection!

Sir, Sennheiser RS180. Sounds like wired hifi headphones. I have one and I am very happy with it. It is an open air wireless headphone.
