ipod to pc

i think this has been asked before, but i'm not sure. is there a way to copy the files on an ipod back to the hard disk? my bro lost his data on his hard disk, and wants to back up his files on his resurrected pc.

You can boot into a Ubuntu live disc, connect your iPod, search and just drag your music file onto a fat32 drive. Then boot into Windows. Open iTunes and add the new files.
