on the same line of thinking too doc Bern... hoping other players will have after market support like iPOD

i agree on the line out advantage...

iPod docked on i-Nix ==> GW-J9 desk amp ==> big boy Sony MDR XB-700 ==> :music:

This is the only picture i got for now, the one on the upper left. I'll try to get more photos of it this weekend. Included on the pic below are a couple of non-ipod players.

Do all ipods (from minis, classics, nanos, to touchs) all share the same line out docks (LODs)?

Nope. The newer models might not work with the older LODs :)

Thanks. Is it possible for you to differentiate which are the latest models to be considered part of the old ones and the new ones (apologies as this is an ipod newbie talking)?

OK...so, in your opinion, what is the best sounding stock iPod when:

-listened to direct from headphone out?
-listened to via iPod line out?

Thanks in advance!

You would be the same Rajan from the Pinoydiophiles Yahoo! Groups days?

If yes, glad to see you posting again!

I remember we were amongst the first (and very few) headphone enthusiasts when the most expensive headphones you can buy was the K1000 (save for the unpbtainium Orpheus). My how the headphone world has changed. I'm so glad that there is a new generation of enthusiasts pushing the envelop on the headphone side of the audio world.
