So how much did your IE-8 cost if you don't mind me asking? I know you only auditioned them for a short time, but anyway, can you give us your impressions regarding SQ, comfort, and the cables.Noel wrote:except for the UE3, i compared the shure, westone and senn unamped from my ipod just recently. all were priced roughly in the US$400 range. all were good, and of different sonic flavor. i ended up with the IE8 as i found it to be closest in character to my loudspeaker system. i think it will boil down to taste and there are no absolutes amongst these.
i also tried an iQube amp with the IE8 w/ pretty impressive results.

comfort: they are great - i'm used to the senn px100 and i would say the ie8 is much more comfortable.
cables: imo simple, flexible and durable-looking. have not so far noticed any cable-related microphonics. i preferred the ie8 cables and overall build quality compared to the shure or westone. please note i use this mostly sitting down listening.
sound: really tough to describe, i would say it is like a significantly accomplished and refined version of a px100.
