AKG -

I was looking for AKG K701, and found that Audiophile probably has the most number of available models, including the K701. 5th Ave. Park Square 1 still has AKG but seems limited models only and probably focused on the budget models and the wireless ones.

I haven't seen the higher end phones from Senns on the local market lately, last time was about 3-4 years ago. I think the local distributor now is Axis Global Tech in Cubao (tel. #7243340). Or you can try calling any of their local resellers, like the Listening Room in Megamall (tel. #6329577), they might still have some stock of the Senn 600s. :)

Recently saw some Sennheiser flyers from Axis Global, but looks like they don't carry the high-end models. http://www.axisglobal.com/product_list.asp?brand=Sennheiser&class=Headsets

Listening Room models are much worse.

TTVJ is my last option. Thanks!

Todd's is a reputable and very safe site to shop online, no doubt about that, $10 off your 1st purchase to boot. But expect to pay the local duties/taxes given he declares the full price on his shipped products. Another option is Bluetin's (Singapore) if you're not comfortable using your credit card since they also accept Western Union money transfer payments. You'll receive the goods about 2 days (via FedEx) after you email Minhwa the control number, and he can under-declare the price if you so wish (I think). Goodluck then :)

Ordered from TTVJ \o/

Yep they base their price from the MSRP on Sennheiser's website. I don't think local shops carry HD600/650.

The waiting game starts.

tongson,
given the limited market of headphones, it's understandable why most shops hesitate to have high end or even midrange headphones.

hope your unit arrives soon. :)

Besides their outrageous price, they're saying you have to wait 60 days to ship such a small piece of parcel while they hold on to your money? :o That’s nuts! I dunno, but to me it's short of saying "bugger off, we don't want your business here". I could just imagine... "yes sir 60 days pa po kasi miminahin pa namin sa bulubundukin ng Chiquimata yung copper na gagamitin para sa headphones na ino-order niyo". :fubar:

You certainly are better off buying online then, good for you and congrats! ( a week's wait wouldn't hurt as much) Image

I have always made it my last resort to order online not because of credit card security, but because I expect that Customs will ask too much tax for the goods. Although I observed that when items I order from the US are shipped via FedEx, the taxes are much less. I had a bad experience before when I had a shipment via EMS, and I had to go to the post office to claim the package and Customs asked me to pay almost 35% tax!

some 2 to 3 years ago, i saw a pair of AKG K-1000s at 5th Ave in Park Square 1 selling for Php 25,000... had i known it retailed for USD 1000 in the US, i would've jumped on it, kept it in the box and resold it... I now see used units selling for as much as USD 1200 on some auction sites ;(
