speakers on 4 ohm vs. 8 ohm taps - what's the theory?

I'm thinking of bi-wiring my 6 ohms speakers, is it ok if I'll tap the woofers on the 4 ohms & the tweeter on the 8 ohms tap? Hindi ba masira amp sa ganun?
