Had family dinner last Saturday at 8:30 at Chilis Tomas Morato, QC. Noise level was high that it was difficult to converse with family members. My dad who wears a hearing aid (94 years old only) had to turn it off. That place can also use this technology. Food was good though.

Resto noise depends on the strategy the owner wants,

Do they want a cozy place that people just want to hangout....slow turnover of customer ...but hopefully result in additional order of drinks or more food.

Or a place were people order, eat then leave...free for next batch and another set of orders.
That is why fast food places are have bright lights+ hard acoustics+hard furniture..eat then leave
