LSA1 and LSA2 loudspeakers back in stock

Postby JackD201 » Sat Oct 13, 2007 11:33 am

The LSA2 Tower and the LSA Standard are now undergoing continuous play to burn them in. The LSA1 will take the place of the towers for burn in on Monday. Currently they are running with the ASL 300B and yes they are just as easy to drive and are indeed the sonic twin of their brother the much missed VR-1. Talagang mas guapo lang ito.

Keith and I were extremely happy to find that the stock chinese tubes that were supposed to come with the integrated had already been factory upgraded to Electro Harmonix 6922s and that spare EHs are provided. We tube rolled with Siemens Goldpin CCa's and Holland Mullards and the difference in character really presented itself to a great degree.

Needless to say that for a complete system that will come in at just over 220k discounted, sans cables and CD player we feel it will make some high priced components sweat buckets

Out of the box they lean towards warmth and sacrifice some of the VSA VR-2s neutrality for more body and warmth and are even now a tad more forgiving of bad recording. They do however have the same wide open presentation and while strings at the moment seem overly smooth and lacking the bite of horsehair on catgut vocals are already wonderfully fleshed out.

It appears we have a bunch of WINNERS here

Just hang on a few days more Bozanians we'll open up for sneak peaks very soon.

:D

Kaya mabilis maubos

So far all LSA2s save 1 pair live in the South! (not counting Sluggo's bedroom pair LSA2 Signatures) I wonder if it's a coincidence?

am told mr. E's LSA2/LSA standard here at the south is never turned off since the time we set it up. a true His and Hers system - mornings for her and evenings for him. :-)

this combo is a best buy within this budget range, and a killer system at that. i know, i kinda lived with this set-up for almost a month, breaking 'em in for a friend..

Alex just say when ;) I should be delivering to Hyperaudio this week also. They can be purchased there as well.

VD, Keith and I are very happy that Mr.E now also known as Mr. E(frend) is happy with his system :) Next stop....SL1210 M5G? We're doubly happy that Mrs. E is enjoying. I got worried when she didn't look too happy about moving her furniture around a bit! What a relief that she feels our amateur attempts at interior design was worth it for her as well.

OT I bought the Leah Salonga CD you were listening to. Pretty darned good even sonically. My kids can't stop singing along to Grusin's Land of the Loving  CUTE!!!

Those LSA 1 bookshelf speakers are very impressive. Very classy looking ,with warm open sound even with just 30 hours break in time. I had the pleasure of listenning to those magical pair at Mang Rene's place. Just wondering if the leather covers of those Aurum Cantus stands come in colors close to the speakers finish. Its a little beyond my budget, but who knows

We're very happy you and your fam are enjoying Skee!   It was also the first time for us to hear Mang Rod's creations with any of our speakers and I must say the man does killer voicing. I'm sure it is his voicing because the characteristics are present in both te 6550/KT88 and the 6c33 amps of Pat. His electronics are extremely quiet when they are at operating temperature and this leads to a wonderful sense of purity . The bloom is not painted on as is the case with quite a few commercial tube amps I've heard but is correctly a direct extension of musical events. Type ko. :) Good job MR

Oh I forgot to answer your question on why we adjusted the rake angle. From extreme nearfield positions being on axis can make the sound of the tweeters dominant. So in small rooms we move the axis up a liitle bit. The effect is smoother treble and midrange integration (coherence) and thereby lessening specific localizations for small events that suddenly sound like they are coming directly from the speaker so much so na napapatingin ka sa speaker. In other words it helped make the speakers disappear without impacting overall tonal balance. :)

Enjoy Skee!!!!!!

Congrats Skee and of course to Cong Jack. I guess there's really nothing more to say about that symbiotic combination (LSA2 + 6C33C-B) coupled with wifey's nod of approval! It's worth the four-month long and painstaking search to capture that jewels from Jack' Lair. Sulit-na-sulit yung initial 2-hrs+ salvo ng speakers fresh from the sealed boxes and mated with MR's 6C33C-B vampire amps. I should have a taste of its juice myself one day, maybe at Jack's Lair. :)

Enjoy!!! 8)
