Spica TC-50's

MSM,

This setup looks deadly. Can you describe what this speaker system could possibly be like since you spent a good many years living with the top half? BTW, the bottom half consists of the Kinergetics SW 200 active woofer system.

This picture looks familiar. It seems that I've been to the owners place.

Yup, lived with my Spica TC50 for 10 years. :)

And yup, the Kinergetics, they say, is the perfect match for 'em TC50s. 8)

What I loved about the TC50 was its midrange. 8) Nice timbre. 8)

Disappearing act, and a soundstage beyond the speakers were among the strenghts of those triangular speakers. 8)

Weakness - rolled off top end, and bottom end. :( But who cares, its prowess is the all critical midrange which most speakers fail in producing nicely. :)

Another would be a bit grain in the top end as compared to the newer breed of standmounts with exotic tweeters.

Its one of those few products which excel in both "HiFi" aspect -> for its soundstaging / imaging characteristics, as well as "Musicality" aspect -> for its midrange timbral coolness. 8)

I had been to this guys place and bought some huge speakers from him for a fellow wiredstate member. During that time, he don't have the Spica's around and was just using those big speakers at the foreground.

This guy keep on selling stuffs just after testing it for just a day or two.

I think Senor Sensible has 2 pairs of those Toblerons (1 pair was mine).

How about those "Flying Nuns", the big sister / floor stander, Spica Angelus :?: I think Senor Sensible still has a pair of those too.
