Baerwald or Loefgren Alignment?

Postby m_shoe_maker » Mon Feb 06, 2006 9:39 pm

Which technique do you use :?: What alignment tool do you use for it :?:

I ask coz I'm curious :?: I'm interested in getting a Wally Tractor since it has both Baerwald and Leofgren alignment arcs. 8)

JackD, these two different alignment techniques have different "Null Points". Meaning, if you aligned your cart using the Baerwald technique, then you are not aligned based on Loefgren (and vice versa).

If you get a Wally tractor, you will have 2 different alignment grids in one tool. :) One for Baerwald, one for Loefgren. 8) Freedom of choice.

So you have a choice of which standard you will be considered "wala sa alignment"

Sounds like Masochism to me :lol2:

So Fritz, when you gonna pick up Midge, David and Martin?

I really don't know the nerdish explanation on it (its in the net), but from what I know, some older LPs are better suited for one alignment technique.

did georgie teach you how to set it up? just in case, the stylus should fall in the middle of the two lines and in between the end of the taller line and the shorter line.

Normally, special tools (not universal) made by manufacturers specifically for their arms such as VPI, only has one Null Point. :)

Other tools which have that ruler type contraption, also employ a single Null Point. :) These tools compute for the Pivot to Spindle distance, and automatically computes for the overhang - thus no need for 2 Null Points. :) The gold standard Denessen was like this, as well as newer alignment tools made by Clearaudio, Project, etc. :)

i use the clearaudio alignment tool on all my technics and ok naman. it's so easy to use and swak naman yun overhang ko. no distortion sa inner tracks.
