To borrow a quote from the ubiquotous [b]HYPERTRIODE[b]:

"I am my own triggerman!"

I'm left with no choice unless The Great Dr. MsM can willingfully grace my humble abode...to be my daddy

Doc MSM is my Daddy but he only visited our house once to align my Grado Platinum cart (a month ago). Two weeks back, I upgraded again, to a Grado Sonata, di pa bumalik si daddy. Ganyan talaga kapag anak ka sa labas, once a year ka lang bisitahin ni daddy.

Herr H, who had become a friend, insisted on doing the setup for his cart... 'di daw ako kuwalipikado. When he pulled the Dennesen, I was thinking, hmmph, kaya ko rin 'yan, but when he broke out that headset and started working, I'm thinking, shet bok, ganyan tumira ang Teutonic!

Hayop bumanat yan, ttommy ah :!: :o May special spectacles pa. 8)

That's the reason why I started this thread. I want to know who "D'MEN" are, and also, I want to know their secret tools / instruments in doing their trade.

Just like a professional car engine tuner, in analog, tools are very important. You would not want your baby to be tuned by bare hands, or even make shift / cheap and shabby tools would you :?:

With ample resources, one can easily purchase tools from your favorite analog shops. :) That's easy, but what I am curious about are some special, hard to find tools which are being used by some.

During the early days, the Dennessen was one of the most sought after alignment tools in the business. It was innovative, expensive, as well as hard to find. Maybe today, some Daddys have these type ingenious analog tools.

Yup, but nagtunog digital ang analog rig ko. It turned out, sobra ng 3-4mm ang overhang. Tinulungan na nga lang ako ng isa pang audio pal kasi di mo na kami binisita, Daddy eh. Di ba bad yon???

Let me write the unwritten rule of the good Dr. MsM. Free house calls anytime for carts $5k and up. 6x a year for carts $3k and up. 3x a year for carts $1k and up. Anything below $1k he lets his gorilla do it. So, Audio Tyro, consider yourself a lucky man. BTW, are you sure it was the good Dr. who went to your house? Not a furry looking thing???

IHJ,
Just a comment okay? I hope what you posted above is a joke, seriously. I'm glad I'm not in the Philippines from your post above. I thought members of WiredState are like brothers that comes to aid a brother in need. Based on what you said above, MSM only prefer to lend his expertise to those with expensive carts and if you are not in "his" preferred price point you are out of luck. Sad, very sad indeed. Godspeed.

Thanks IHJ. Hmm, now, I'm not sure if that was indeed Dr. MSM who came by the house. But he sure looked like a cross between Ben Affleck and Lance Armstrong.
