I currently have this cdp on my set-up, may not be using the latest technology but still delivers accurate music. Built like a tank, quite heavy for its size...plays cdr but make sure to pick good recordings...i noticed local cds recorded poorly will output crap music...good thing the 220-240 volt model is locally available (previously distributed by DCM many moons ago...). 1 analog output and 2 digital out put (1 coaxial & 1 optical), no need for an external DAC, but if you happen to have an X-10D tube buffer, it should help in taming the highs and will soften the output a bit. Lens replacement can easily be ordered @ eBay...matched perfectly on musical fidelity x-series components. Hope this helps in your query :)

this may be a late reply, but if you are still contemplating on this unit - GO FOR IT!
this must be one of the best CDPs MF had produced.

then hunt for the similar looking amps & preamps and you'll have a very respectable system - whatever the age is.
