What are the live concerts you have attended?

Postby jadis » Wed Apr 27, 2005 5:47 pm

I dont know if there has been a thread/question like this but it will be
interesting to hear ALL the live artists we have seen live. As far as my memory can remember, I have attended concerts of:

Earl Klugh
Peaches and Herb
Yvonne Elliman
David Benoit
Seawind
Air Supply
Toto
The Jets ( because my wife-to-be likes them)
Julio Iglesias
Don McClean
America

OPM
Side A ( when they were not too well known and performing in an Annapolis Bar-boy, were they good )
Zza Zza Padilla
Regine
Lani ( the best female belter in my books )
Freestyle
Martin ( I never liked his antics but boy, the guy can sing ).

Broadway Musicals:
Phantom of the Opera
Les Miserables

On the classical side, I attended Cecille's concerts a few times, PPO
with various repertoire many times, Alicia de Larocha at Carnegie Hall, 'Mostly Mozart' Concert at Lincoln Center, and the best event I have ever attended was an Operatta of Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss at the Schonbrun Theatre in Vienna. It was like a concert for tourists because I was told that the real deal was in the Opera House at the heart of Vienna.Unfortunately, I was not able to make it there. The performance and sound' at the Schonbrun is indescribable - I cannot even compare it to
my system then, nor now.

Nice concerts, KD. I missed Barry when he performed here. Oh well, I missed so many others even. And I would consider broadway musicals as live acts too. Good to remind me, I saw Les Mis twice, in SF and London. Phantom in NY, and oh, I also saw Alica deRocha, I think the surname is spelled wrong, in a piano concerto at Carnegie Hall. It was there that I was astounded to hear how fantastic the acoustics of the hall was, I was seated at probably what is called the 3rd balcony, so far I can barely see her face, but the piano was like in front on me, sonically speaking.

arnoldc,

EW&F should be fantastic. I saw their Laserdisc concert in the 80s and it was electrifying.
I wish I was there. hehe. Another concert I wished I was there was the Laserdisc concert
of Madonna, The Virgin Tour - her homecoming concert in Detroit. She was not overly done
pa that time unlike those in Tokyo and Italy where I could not recognize her. Yeah, I saw a lot of those Shakey's band. Cool din sila. May sinabi....who knows maybe some one them went on to become famous band members.

marty_e,iceman90a,

thanks for sharing....lately, i've gotten a liking for the corrs, especially andrea. after seeing her on dvd with josh groban, and their own live concert at landsdowne where they
sung 'no frontiers' (popularized by mary black), i would want to watch they if they visit.

Superman,

Don Moen. Yeah, I saw him on TV in a 'concert' with Benny Hinn. Nice voice. And I saw Benny Hinn on TV singing even before I heard Don Moen. Benny also sings well. If not for the mammoth crowd they draw outdoors, I probably would have wanted to attend their concert. I bought the Benny Hinn CD/VCD, wherein one Alvin Slaughter rendered the most
powerful version of the Our Father I have ever heard.
