As posted in the 'sessions' thread of audiostar, last night I had another chance to revisit the first SS that I posted here, that of a long time friend and former neighbor who has moved to bigger place, and has also built a bigger and better listening room.

THE NEW ROOM

60 square meters net listening area, with a sloping ceiling that is 10 feet at its lowest point and 11' at its peak.

THE GEARS

Above, the towering and massive Eggleston Ivys, Krell MRAs, Two Halcro Mono's in bi-amped configuration, Jadis JP200 line stage, ML Transport and DAC.

Up Close...

From the side...THE AMPS, or THE BLOCKS :D

THE FRONT END...

The Forsell Air Bearing TT and Arm:

THE 'CEILING'

THE 'BACKROOM' (walk in closet that houses more software and old gears)

THE WHOLE 'KABOODLE' (...of cables) :D :D

Image

The interesting conversation piece of the night - THE 'MONO MONO' AIRCON (that caused me to have some sniffles in the morning, I couldn't escape its powerful and airy attack where ever I sat in the room) :D :D

THE GANG

Super night, super gears, super music, and super fun. Thanks to Bamboo Chairman, to our great host, and to Val, JAA and Redline XP.

Indeed Phil, I've been so caught up with work lately. In fact, I have to travel out of town the next day. Pare, di ko namalayan pass 1am na pala tayo natapos, but I didn't mind at all losing some sleep; the experience was all worth it. :)

Yeah Val. The last surprise of the morning (capping an evening of tremendous surprises), was that while of us were trekking out of the listening room towards the gate to go home, and suddenly our host asked: 'anyone for coffee?', instantly I saw ALL made a U-turn towards the dining table for coffee. Nobody wanted to sleep, apparently, that morning. Kaya nga 1:15am to be exact, ang departure time natin. :D :D

It was full of surprises last Friday! I did not imagine such a SUPER SYSTEM exists! What's more surprising is the humbleness of the GREAT OWNER! :) :)
