Are you happy, are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat

THUD THUD THUD

Another one bites the max

THUD THUD THUD

Another one bites the max

THUD THUD THUD
Another one bites the max

THUD THUD THUD
Another one bites the max

With due apologies to Queen...Again...

In my dreams, Ding. I've dreamed of being a rock star a few times. A soft rock star. Not the metallic type.

The AudioTechnica turntable just came in for some supping up works. Guess what? It brought home the Minimax and the Glider as its new found companion. :)

Mundorf and the Max

THE MAX CAN STILL BE MAX'ED...

Many many months ago, Mang Mandy shared with me pictures of his Minimax Phono, in which he substituted the factory supplied caps in the inputs to Mundorf's Silver Gold Oil caps. He reported many areas of improvements just by substituting 2 caps, the ones pictured below in white, labelled MultiCap:

Into the black colored Mundorf Silver Gold Oil caps.

I told Morita about the experience of Mang Mandy and after so much delay, finally, we set up a day to substitute not only 2, but 6 caps in the signal path, here all colored in white.

Into 6 black colored Mundorf Silver Gold oil caps.

We then tested the phono stage at Audio Amplified's showroom in Libis just to make sure all is working well, and yes, both channels do have sound. :D Then we packed it up, for Morita to perform some serious 24/7 burn in of the brand new Max which has been 'max'ed' even more by the new German caps.

He will bring it to my place for a Clash of the Clans showdown, and to attack my Mullard laced Minimax with his Mundorf'ed unit. Mahilig sa combat talaga si Pat. I will report only when my unit trounces his. :D :D

TO THE MAXXXXXXXXXX.... :D

Morita ordered a pair of red tipped Telefunken 802s for his Minimax Line stage, and when they arrived yesterday he asked me to test it in my own Mini Line.

For my initial impressions, I have to quote Robin and say Holy Atomic Pile!!! :o :o :o The German Blitzkrieg surprised the British defense. Kakabili ko lang ng Mullard Long Plates. $%^&^*%*%^+%*^%!!! ;(

Any news on a Clash of the Clan showdown? Soooo quiet. Does it imply that the Mundorf'ed unit defeats the Mullard laced Minimax with no sweat? :?:

I'm not sure if any of the upgrade will increase performance though I've been happy with my all stock several years now.
However, I'm happy to announce that there is already a SUPERMAX with a red tip 802s to boot.

Congrats Jen. Wish you Analog Bliss [WHITE SMILING FACE]

It was quick and easy. And it's all a matter of taste. I personally didn't hear any traits that dramatically swept me off my feet on the Mundorf'ed unit. It's clean, clear and concise in its musical delivery, but without the lusty flavor of my Mullard tubes, as it used the stock tubes. I didn't feel like I needed more cleanliness in my sound, so I didn't MD'ed mine anymore. Let's put it this way, I am very much satisfied with my tube flavoring. :)

You're a few years delayed on your speed, Superman, but it's better than never. :D Congrats on your 'max. And btw, I think Nols meant red tip 83, not 802. :)
