HiFi Show 2014

All eyes and ears have been focused these past few days on the annual Hifi Show organized by the hyperactive guy known in these pages as 'detubo', aka TonyBoy. Ever since he launched the first ever show at LPL Towers way back in 2004 if I'm not mistaken, I have attended all save for last year when I was out of town. This year is another resounding success as far as I can tell, and it's high time that we bestow a "'Tony Award"' to the main man himself for uniting all 'camps' (local and imported, tubes or solid state, home audio or home theatre) of the Philippine audio world under one aircon'ed roof. We will also retire his 'jersey' and this award itself will be retired as we speak so that nobody else will be able to use it, after all it was named after him. And without much ado, a few shots from this year's event. (First time for me to bring a cam to the show and as luck would have it, nag 'lowbat' as I found out my kids used it a while without recharging so I had to substitute it with my cell phone cam for some low rez pics.)
From the Wiredstate DIY Room anchored by Jon Agner:
Val's DIY Room:
Mang Mandy's Turntable/Arm:
Mang Rod's Power Amps:
Architectural Audio's Room featuring Magico's Q3:
Harana's Room featuring a Reel to Reel tape source playing 'disco music' from DJ's tapes: (Sorry the pic of the speakers and amps was blurred by the fury of the disco lights gyrating all over the room)
The VS Room of Jack and Keith:
Townshend Turntable:
DaVinci DAC from ROSWELL:
AVDI Room:
Focal Stella Speakers:
With VTL amp and JL Gotham subwoofer:
For a while there, I thought Piers Morgan of CNN had flown in, but upon investigation, it was Luke Manley of VTL.
And even more confusing, I thought the owner of another audio store was inside the AVDI room giving a talk. He's actually the French guy from Focal.
Until the next Hifi Show!
