Looking for AV Processor

Postby Jerlobitz » Thu Oct 08, 2009 10:53 pm

Hey guys! I'm looking for an AV processor with the latest codecs (DTS-HD Master Audio/Dolby True HD). Kindly advise your price and brand/model. My budget is just modest, around 50-75K.

The AV processor will be used for my new purchased second hand 7 channel power amp, Rotel RMB-1077. I have an existing Denon AV reciever and want to upgrade to separate AV processor/amp set-up.

why not Rotel 1570? We have one in stock hehe ... but it is more than 75k. Don't think you can find a dedicated processor at that price - you will have to use an AVR as processor - a Denon 3310 perhaps?

rotel combo = perfect!

for pure HT system, maybe a yamaha RCV as a processor... HT with Audio - denon

den again, i would still like to know the speakers...why? maybe proper synergy...

i like B&W's paired with onkyo / rotel
paradigms with denons
jamo's with high end pioneers etc...

I am using a Rotel 1066 processor and a 1075 power amp for years. Very happy with the SQ regardless of speakers I use such Dynaudio, VR1, Heybrook, and I even tried Rogers LS35a for concerts.

I am using Usher BE-718 (US version) for the front, focal chorus CC700V for the center and wharfedale bipole for surround & back speakers. I am using my system 60/40 for music & HT. I believe the limitation of Rotel RSP-1570 is the room correction/calibration feature which is not incorporated but is available in most other processors in the market. Any comments?
